Accommodations

keyParticipants are responsible for making their own housing arrangments. It is not the intent of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the Outreach Programs, or Penn State University to endorse or recommend any housing accommodations. The partial, alphabetical list given below, of the housing within the State College area is provided only as an indication of the kinds of accommodations available. Please check with your travel agency or search our Links page for additional area offerings.



On-Campus Housing in Residence Hall

On-campus housing is available on a limited basis for $63.00 per night, single occupancy at Eastview Terrace. The rate includes a hot breakfast each day of residence, bed linens, towels, washcloth, and soap. You should bring your own clothes hangers, alarm clock, and any other personal items you may require. You may also buy a meal plan that includes lunch and dinner for a fee of $56.00 per person. The Meal Plan starts with dinner on Tuesday, August 11th and ends with dinner on Thursday, August 13th. If you do not buy the meal plan, lunch and dinner are on your own. Please download the form (links below) and follow the directions for making a reservation.

You can easily walk from the on-campus housing location to the Summer Symposium location and downtown State College, or ride the Campus Loop and Link buses free of charge on campus.


Reservations are available on a first come first served basis. Please note that on-campus residence hall housing reservations can be accepted only by mail or fax - NOT by phone.

State College Area Lodging Room Blocks

Blocks of rooms are available at the Atherton Hotel and the Nittany Lion Inn, when booking a room 30 days in advance of the start date of the Summer Symposium. Be sure to mention that you are attending the Summer Symposium in Molecular Biology when making reservations. Room blocks are not available during the 30 days prior to the start of the Summer Symposium.
