Information For Participants

Presentation location:

  • All lectures will take place in 100 Life Sciences Building (Berg Auditorium).  

Presentation Preparation for Speakers:

  • During the refreshment break directly prior to your session you are to take your digital presentation materials to the media specialist for loading into the PC or Mac computer in the front of the auditorium. You may also use your own computer. The media specialist will help get you connected.

Speaker Presentation Duration:

  • Plenary Speakers: 60 minutes
  • Test Case Speakers: 90 minutes
  • Session Speakers: 40 minutes
  • Student Speakers*: 20 minutes

*Student Speakers will be selected from abstracts submitted to our faculty conveners.  To apply, simply click on the tab located at the top of the page entitled "Abstracts-Poster Sessions".

Poster Sessions (located on the 3rd floor of the Vern M. Willaman Gateway to the Sciences)

  • Wednesday, June 6
    • 8:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. 
  • Thursday, June 7
    • 8:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. 


  • University Policy states that badges must be worn for the duration of the conference, both for security purposes and for entry to the lectures and receptions.



  • Coffee breaks will be provided each morning and afternoon. Please see the program for location.

Internet Access

  • As a visitor to our campus, you may access free AT&T wireless Internet (Wi-Fi) service from your personal computer or other wireless enabled device at any participating visitor wireless location.

Campus visitors wishing to access free AT&T Visitor Wireless service should follow these simple steps:

        • Verify that you are in a wireless service area by checking your wireless signal for the network named “attwifi.”
        • Connect to "attwifi" by configuring your wireless network settings to access "attwifi."
        • Launch a web browser and attempt to connect to any website.
        • Click "Get Connected" to agree to Terms of Service on the AT&T Wi-Fi connection page.



  • Meals are on your own. For meals, in addition to restaurants in downtown State College, on-campus eateries are located on the ground floor of the HUB-Robeson Center.  The hours of operation as well as a listing of eateries located in the HUB-Robeson Center can be viewed here.

Medical Services

  • Please alert a member of the staff in the case of a minor incident.  If it is an emergency, please call 9-1-1 directly and inform a member of the staff.


  • A message board for participants will be outside of Berg Auditorium. Announcements or changes may be posted there, as well as other communications.  Feel free to use it as needed.


  • A valid parking permit must be displayed on all vehicles parked on the University Park campus.  Parking passes can be requested through the registration process.  If you do not request a parking pass while registering your attendance at the event, and later find that you need a pass, you may purchase a parking permit at the registration table during check-in.

Personal Belongings

  • Please keep personal belongings with you at all times. Penn State is not responsible for lost items.


  • Tuesday, June 5th, Welcome Reception:  
      • Please join us from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Arboretum at Penn State.
      • The event will include heavy hors d'oeuvres and a full bar.
      • Registrants will be given 2 complimentary drink tickets each.  Tickets will be located inside each registrants name badge. Any drinks served beyond the 2 complimentary will be at the cost of the registrant.



  • First Floor restrooms are located directly across the hall from Berg Auditorium.
