Registration Information for the 31st Summer Symposium in Molecular Biology at Penn State

Early Bird Registration Discount is available until Friday, June 1, 2012. Regular registration fees will be in effect as of June 2, 2012.

Deadline:  All registrations must be received by 5:00 p.m. EST on Friday, July 13, 2012. After this date, please call the Conference Planner at 814-865-9986 for information about onsite check-in. If space permits, you may register for an additional $30.

Parking Information: If parking a vehicle on campus, permits are required unless you are staying at the Nittany Lion Inn.

If staying at the Nittany Lion Inn, parking is included with your lodging. You'll need to obtain a parking ticket when entering the parking deck adjacent to the Nittany Lion Inn and have it validated at the NLI check-in desk before you return to your car in the parking deck. Otherwise, standard parking fees will apply.

If staying elsewhere, parking for the meeting will be available at the parking deck adjacent to the Nittany Lion Inn. You will need to obtain a parking ticket when entering the parking deck and have it validated at the NLI check-in desk prior to returning to your car in the parking deck. Otherwise, standard parking fees will apply.

Registration Process


You may register online, by mail, or by phone. Conferences and Short Courses will confirm your registration in the program by email. Please include an email address when registering online or by phone.

2. To pay by check, you may register online and mail your check made payable to "Penn State" along with a copy of your registration to:

3. To register by phone, call toll free, 877-778-2937.

Regardless of registration method, the registration must be accompanied by full payment of published fees. Payment using a credit card is only accepted by online registration.

Upon arrival, all registrants must check in at the Symposium registration table to receive a proceedings book, name badge, and participant packets.

Registration Policy


Symposium attendees are responsible for their own travel, lodging arrangements, and meals.

Conferences and Short Courses will confirm your registration in the program by email. Please include an email address when registering online or by phone.

You will be notified promptly of any cancellations, schedule, or program changes. Conferences and Short Courses will confirm your enrollment in the program. Refunds (minus a $50 processing fee) will be made for cancellations received in writing by July 6, 2012. After this date, the participant or organization will be held responsible for the registration fee. Anyone who is registered but cannot attend may send a substitute.

Please complete and submit your registration with payment as soon as possible to facilitate preparation of your Summer Symposium packet.

*The registration fee includes admission to all July 22-24, 2012 Symposium sessions and receptions, a Symposium proceedings book, refreshments during the breaks between sessions, and buffet dinners on Sunday and Monday evenings. Attendees are responsible for their own travel, lodging arrangements, and meals.
